Our family friend Jim came to visit. I took him down to the aerodromo to watch and he and Carlos became instant buddies :)

This didn’t go well from the start and I’m still not sure what happened. I launched as usual but didn’t seem to have enough power. I gently turned to try and get Mad Maxon back but it spun in about 125m away.

Crashed it again after inverted flight. Just got it wrong and it went in full chat (don’t they always). The wing split badly on one side from the trailing edge all the way to the main spar and broke the shock cord. Again. I have glue…

So, my current TGY-i6 radio has done sterling service. Much less battery changing required compared to my previous T6 that originally came with the Bixler3 and with the 10-channel firmware patch it’s been useful as well. But. And there’s always a but; there are a few odd things, like one of the switches always adds throttle as if it was programmed with throttle-up for a helicopter. Which it isn’t. So I can’t use that switch.

Zooming around for about 15 minutes and I did an inverted loop a little wrong and lost the Venturi into the river. Or so I thought. It took me ages to find it. I really thought it had floated away but it was on the river bank just above the water. I was just tieing a rope around me for Paul to pull me back up with (the river bank is quite high) when Nuno bounces past us, goes over the edge of the river bank onto the top of a random bush, throws us the Venturi and then bounces back up the 2m as if it was 20cm.
