As well as the Aeroclube de Lagos, there is also a model-flying club which I joined recently. We’re an interesting mix of Portuguese, German and of course english.
The picture above was taken in 2015 during the celebration of the aerodromo’s 50th birthday.
Model flying is allowed Saturday and Sunday’s from Sunrise until 2pm. A nice informal setting; we don’t have to land if a full-size aircraft wants to takeoff or land, we just have to keep well clear of the runway. Of course, I’m a beginner so I chose to land and wait. No rush. The runway os 450m long, enough for even me ;)
