Carlos' not-cub Cub

After Carlos had a moment with his lovely yellow Piper Cub, he rebuilt it into something a little different. A low-wing not-cub Cub. A bit of a handful to fly it would seem, but looks really interesting. Almost like a 1930s monoplane of some kind.

Kyosho Calmato

Even I have to eventually admit that I’m not as bad as when I started out teaching myself to fly. I can fly reasonably well for a beginner and don’t crash all the time. Yes, yes, I know this blog is full of crashes but that’s mostly because I can’t take pictures of me flying, because I’m flying. After I’ve had a crash it’s easy to take a picture, I can just wander over to the new hole the model dug and snap away.

Crashed the Venturi Again

On the second battery pack of the Venturi I was just a little bit out passing me - instead of flying a few meters away it came directly over my head. I turned around as I lost sight of it due to the cap I wear and waited the 1 second it would take to appear. While I was waiting I heard from over my right shoulder an interesting noise. Sort of a whump sound followed by some shouting.

Helicopter Crashing

Paul visits fairly frequently from the UK and is a member of the model club. He likes to flies his helicopters nice and smoothly while being very aerobatic. It’s pretty cool to watch but on occasion the helicopters have a little chat with terra firma. The wreckage doesn’t generally look to bad until you get close up.

Clifftop flying

Jim wanted to get some video of the glorious Grottos at the beach so headed to the cliff tops. The grottos are pretty awesome, but much better viewed up close in a boat.
