RC Paramotor IV

Revised Frankenplane.

Ditched the Hobbyking parafoil because no matter what I did or how I setup the lines it just didn’t want to fly. Looking through the forums it would appear that this is a common result. Great, but at least it was only 16 quid or thereabouts.

I bought another parafoil . It doesn’t have any brake lines so I converted the machine to weight shift with the addition of a server saver bar (steering bar) to which the parafoil lines attached to (at the end of some thin steel cable. Only one hefty servo is needed so that’s OK.

I got the new foil from Paralight it cost $120 - yes a lot more than 16 quid, but it was worth it. At the very first attempt Frankie immediately flew and flew well! In fact, with the 5045 size motor on 5S 5000mAh battery pack, it can do impressive loop-the-loops one after the other. I gave up after 10.
