Slowstick Boating

Balls. Slowie got a bit out of control and ended up in the river. I could see where it was, right in the middle of the river. It was low tide and stuck in the mud but about 50m away the edge of the aerodromo through some really tough trees, bushes and vegitation. Worse, from another persons exploits I know that river mud is about 50cm deep and very sticky.

Tricopter

Since were now a multicopter family, I thought I’d have a go at building a multicopter. Madam’s excellent quadcopter will take some beating so to be different I went for a tricopter. Built from some aluminium square rod from the local AKI and laser-cut plywood for the central hub. The arms can collapse towards the tail for easy storage and transport. KK2 flight controller, DT750 brushless motors and a BMS380-DMAX servo for the tail.

Madams Quadcopter II

“I’ll design and buid a quadcopter” she says. And so she did. Here’s the finished quad.

Miro, van and post

Miro, on his way into the aerodromo today, was distracted watching someone. A little too distracted apparently… The post didn’t fare any better either.

Madams Quadcopter

So, my good lady came down to the aerodromo to watch the fun and was somewhat disapointed to discover there were no women flying. Outrageous. “I’ll design and buid a quadcopter” she says. “They look like fun”. She’s is a crafter and loves designing cards and things. We also happen to have a 3D printer and also a laser cutter/engraver (heavily modified by yours-truly). And so she did. I suggested the size to be fairly large as the small quadcopters are blazingly fast and agile…
